Surplus food : Throw it away or take it for someone else ?.

 SDG: ZERO WASTE.

Save the food that is needed.

Hi everyone

This is the very first blog post I have written. For this entry, I would like to talk about recycled dishes, which refers to meals that are reheated and enhanced with additional ingredients. This topic is closely related to Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger.

First of all, what is the Sustainable Development Goal or SDG?
The SDGs are global goals outlined by the United Nations to address critical issues and create a better future for all. There are 17 goals in total, including No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, among others.

In this blog post, I will be focusing on SDG 2: Zero Hunger.
The aim of this blog is to raise awareness about food waste in our society. According to data released by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, nearly 15,000 tons of food are wasted daily, and around 20 percent of that food is still edible and untouched. This shows just how much food waste occurs in many countries today.

Often, we are too relaxed when it comes to buying or preparing food in large amounts, without realizing that there are still many people out there who need food as a basic necessity.

This habit is common in our daily lives, where people tend to purchase food in large quantities. As a result, the extra food that is not eaten ends up being thrown away, and this is not a good way for us to sustain the world from disaster.

From my own experience, I have witnessed how food is wasted without any thought or compassion. This also leads to foul-smelling pollution on our planet, as food waste is not separated properly. All of this stems from human greed, without considering the long-term impact. I once visited an area specifically designated as a landfill, and it was so vast that it looked like a housing area. That moment made me think that if we could reduce food waste, maybe such large spaces could be used for better development.

However, there are many challenges when it comes to reducing food waste. One of them is the lack of awareness in society. In my opinion, many people buy large amounts of food because they can afford to, which leads to wastefulness. Moreover, food trends also influence people, especially youths like myself, to buy more than necessary, which again results in waste.

In conclusion, we must begin to think of practical ways to reduce food waste so that our Earth, its resources, and its natural treasures can be better protected for the future.
